The 2019 Cuvée du Roche Reserve is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Narra Vineyards in the Texas High Plains. It is a delightful surprise for the nose and palate, having been barrel fermented, then aged on its lees in neutral French oak for nine months. The result is a dry, refreshing expression of Sauvignon Blanc with a softer mouthfeel and richer nose then one might expect from this varietal. The aromatics begin with notes of citrus blossom, fresh daisies, and lemon zest, followed by baked pear and a subtle touch of fresh-cut grass. The note of ripe pear carries over to the supple body, where it integrates with a hint of minerality, as well as apricot and gooseberry. All lead to an uplifting acidity on the finish, making this a wine good for all seasons!
